g60rc 0 Posted March 2, 2010 Hi all, I'm looking to buy pads for my G60 Front brakes (i gather they're the same as vr6 ones?) I'd like something good value for money. I've heard good reports about the Ferodo DS2500's, which come out at £100. Does anyone know anywhere they are cheaper? Or any others that i'm completely overlooking? colinstubbs 0 Posted March 2, 2010 VR6 pads are 3mm thicker apparently.
Jim 2 Posted March 3, 2010 The Ferrodo's are horrendously expensive but they are very good.. I hear fairly positive things about EBC Greenstuff pads too and they should be a bit more affordable :)
vornwend 0 Posted March 3, 2010 The Ferrodo's are horrendously expensive but they are very good.. I hear fairly positive things about EBC Greenstuff pads too and they should be a bit more affordable :) I have greenstuffs on mine and have been very pleased with them but they did go on at the same time as an upgrade to 288s so that may have been a factor  Since then I have also heard good reprts on EBC redstuff pads - concerns about how long they take to become effective when first driving off were overblown from what I've read. That concern put me off at the time but if I was replacing now I'd probably go with reds.
g60rc 0 Posted March 3, 2010 Cheers guys, They are super expensive, something like 3.5 sets of normal pads on GSF instead. But if there's loads of positive's about them they must be that good to warrent it? Are they perfectly fine for road use, or will they suffer on normal trips? mimjed 0 Posted March 3, 2010 I have some brand new boxed green stuff pads. They are 16v ones so 3mm thinner but work the same. £25 delivered if you want them
colinstubbs 0 Posted March 4, 2010 mimjed are the EBC GreenStuff pads the earlier DP2517s (1989-1990)or later DP2841s(1990-ON)?? They are different shapes and thicknesses. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf1989-1990 1.8 16v front pad.jpg[/attachment:1o9bvdi7] later 1.8 & 2.0 16v 1990-ON front pads.jpg[/attachment:1o9bvdi7] I'd be interested in them if they're the DP2841s 8)

V-Dubstar 0 Posted March 31, 2010 Where did u guys get the DS performance pads from?
Supercharged 2 Posted March 31, 2010 DS Perfomance are the 2500's are they not? That's just what is says on the box. TBH, now I've tried a set I would use anything else... either buy standard VW or DS2500 - I don't think anything else inbetween is worth bothering with. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 31, 2010 Nope, DS "Performance" sits under DS2000. It's the old Pagid fast road equivalent. DS Performance > DS2000 > DS2500 >DS3000. And then you get into the specialist race materials. The 3000 is unbelievable, but noisy and really brutal dust that destroys laquer. The DS2500 is indeed pricey, but as an all round pad that offers strong and consistent bite at all temperatures, wheel laquer friendly dust and silent operation, it's unbeatable imo.
