CPS trigguering wheel

Recommended Posts

last night going theough some old posts i came through this.

http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19689&hilit=schrickmanifold+268

His problems are very similar to mine, and it seems like in the end it was all due to a faulty cam pos sensor trigguering wheel. I had a cps code and replaced it for a new one, but it did not change a thing at the time.

I havent found much more info about this. Can anyone elaborate a little more about it? kev, you coined in and got it right then, can you please explain a little more?

Car is a 94Vr with coilpack.

thanks to all in advance

I found some more info.

The above picture is not correct, it is for a 97 on golf or so, it has single chain.

The magnet part number is 021 905 163 and looks like this:

nos does anyone have a picture of this mounted on the cam and explain how can this fall? It brakes and thats it? does it get eaten by the chains? why doesnt it throw a vagcom code?
