VR6 Oil warning light flashing

Recommended Posts

Ok so the car has been to the local independant VW garage, who tell me that the oil pressure is good...

They also preplace the high and low pressure warning sensors and the oil temp sensor, bu this has not helped.

The oil was changed so too was the oil filter to the 'correct type'.

So i'm running out of ideas, reading some of the posts here on the subject are quite alarming....

Any ideas, wiring harness fault?

what oil pressure readings are yo getting, is there any engine rattling or knocking, it could be a wiring issue, cluster problem.

They all do that mate, it should stop flashing when you start the engine. Does yours?

agree they all do. when the ignition is in position 1 and the engine not running. you should get a sequence of two lights think from memory it's battery or maybe coolant on the left that flashes then goes out then oil on the right, which will flash until the engine is started. as long as you have no warning lights on when the engine is on your fine.

okay 3 light if you have the hand brake on :brickwall:
