Distance between the holes on the brake proportion valve ??

About to install the brake proportion valve onto a refurbished axel - according to a mechanic I know it's supposed to be a certain distance between the hole on the arm and the hole on the valve-body itselfe.

 

Anyone know the default distance? (I presume this will have to be changed if the car is lowered etc)?.

 

It's on a VR6.
