carrots 1 Posted April 9, 2010 i am about to change the oil filter and oil on my 1.8 16v kr engine.ive got 2 oil filters bosch and a unipart.the unipart has got a valve inside where as the bosch hasnt.so which is the beter filter and whats the point of the valve :shrug: Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
krnau 0 Posted April 9, 2010 iirc, the valve is for the case that the oil filter got blocked. if so, then the valve would bypass the filter so the oil can still go under circulation. dirty oil is better than no oil Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
