strimmer 0 Posted April 9, 2010 I'm purchasing a Wavetrac LSD for an 02a box in my '89 16V. There is a changeover of gearbox build at 13th Sep 89 after checking my VIN Wavetrac are suggesting that my gearbox is an early type, that does not allow direct fitment of the diff. The early 02A internals are vastly different to the later items and the diff will only fit if you change a number of components (crown wheel, final drive etc.). The suggestion is to switch the gearbox itself for a later item. I've only been around Corrado's for a couple of years and have never heard this early type gearbox mentioned. We've started to prepare the car for lifting out the engine and gearbox so today I had a chance to see the code is AGY with build date 24/7/19089, remarkably the same date (24th July) as both my anniversary (24/7/2004)and the day the land to build my house on was bought (24/7/1939). :shades: Back to topic, can anyone confirm any of this before I go and get another box?
