Headgasket..

Any chance of giving me a how to on doing a headgasket on a VR6? Me and a mate are going to give it a go this week and wondered,

 

1) What tools are needed

2) A rundown on the things to do

 

Help is massively appriciated and any tips welcome'd

btw ..

i'd get the head checked/skimmed once you have it off to make sure it is still true.

That way you have a good chance of the HG sealing once you put it back together.

Ta mate, just need to know where to start taking it off first. Somebody must have done it, just need some pointers

you need a "multi-spline" bit. i think that's the correct name - basically they look a bit like a torx bit but with 2-3 times the amount of teeth...

 

have a look at the head bolts and you'll see what i mean!
