Greg Kirby 0 Posted May 10, 2010 Just a word of warning. Spoke to Phil from Body-Kit.co.uk regarding a dual dia. 52mm A pillar gauge pod for my car, he assured me via e-mail that the pod was trimmed ready to fit to a RHD Corrado VR6. When it arrived, on the strength of his mail, I didn't measure either hole as my gauges were delayed in transit from USA due to an 'Ash Cloud' and as my car was at Stealth having the turbo conversion, I didn't offer it up against the A pillar, I simply set about spraying it to match my interior colour. Anyway, once the AEM gauges arrived from USA, there was no way they were going to fit. I took the pod to work and measured each hole with a vernier. They were 49.9mm and 49.6mm respectively, so no 52mm gauge was going to fit in these! I took it to Stealth on one of my 'progress visits' and found that the 'pre-trimmed' edges in no way matched the A pillar form, in fact, both edges were different in profile!? I contacted Phil and complained, referred to the e-mail he had sent me confirming that they were a bespoke fitment for the Corrado and asked him for a partial refund, in light of the fact that I had to do so much 'work' to the item to make it fit. It is also worth mentioning that advertising something as one thing and it being another is actually contravening the 'Sales of Goods Act', as the goods were not as 'advertised'. Anyway, several e-mails and phone messages later I have had no reply. He obviously doesn't care. The part is made by RGM and Body-Kit.co.uk are just a trader of this part. I thought he might want to know about these issues and speak to RGM but it doesn't look like he cares once he has your money. So in summary, if you want to buy a universal gauge pod, for 49mm gauges from a company that doesn't care and you are handy with a Dremel, then I recommend this, if you want a pod that your gauges fit into and fits your car - I don't recommend this! quicky1980 0 Posted May 10, 2010 thanks for the heads up. Might be worth a call to trading standards?
