g60 timing

i have a g60 lump in my caddy van, and since ive had it, it has never run 100%

 

ive replaced pretty much everything, sorted all boost leaks, checked all wiring, all sensors and connectors, fueling and spark. ive narrowed it down to the charger being weak.....until i read the timing guide on here!

 

i lined up the cam pulley using the 2 dots on the outer face against the ridge on the rocker cover, when i looked at the flywheel mark, it looked about 1 tooth out on the crank!

 

when i set the timing correctly to 6 degrees BTDC, its crap and i have to advance it up about another 5 degree for it to go anywhere! could the crank being a tooth out explain this??
