oil pressure buzzer

Recommended Posts

my oil light likes to buzz at me now and again only on corners

but today i was having a blast down a country lane and it kept buzzing

so i switched the car off for a minute fired it up all was ok

if i drive to work steady away its fine

i changed the oil pressure switch last week and the oil level is ok

could it be a faulty switch???

also what colour wire plugs onto the switch yellow or green

I had this on my car and it was a faulty oil pump.

I had it some time later, and it was because of swapped press switches connectors I think

I had it once more due to a faulty switch and then once more due to leaving a disconnected wire

so as you see, it may be lots of things; but be careful, if you're really running the engine with low pressure..... :?

from best case senario to worse.

oil used too thin for engine.

low oil level in sump.(Is the guide stick holder broken?

faulty sender/wiring.

oil pump tired.

worn engine bearing(Engine rebuild time)

remember engine oil thins as it heats so oil pressure will drop. This will be especially evident in an engine with a tired bottom end.
