nocrap 0 Posted July 1, 2010 1. remove boot carpet screwed down plate 2. remove large locking ring around the existing pump assembly 3. cut the crimps holding on the fuel lines 4. remove lines (there isn't really any pressure there from my experiance) 5. remove loom plug 6. withdraw assembly 7. with some careful twisting conjiggering remove the existing lift pump (i think i was able to slide the climp clip off it a bit) 8. swap the strainer and carefully conjigger the new one back on 9. replace back into the tank you'll possibly need a new locking ring as you might wreck it when trying to remove it (only a few ££ from VW, put it back on with some grease) and you'll definately need some small jubilee clips for the hoses.
