welsh16v 0 Posted July 20, 2010 Ive been told that the problem im having with my fuel lift pump not working is due to a relay because when i removed the lift pump and applied electricity to it it was working. When in the tank it doesnt make a noise so Ive been told that the relay has gone. According to the owners manual the only fuse for fuel pump is fuse no.18. When this fuse is in place the fuel pump makes a noise, no noise when out(which is obvious) therefore this fuse is ok. There's no listing of the relays in the owners handbook so I havent got a clue which one it is!! can anyone tell me which one it is or if you think something else is the problem. Thanks Basically the problem im having is - the car can be fine when I start it. It will go for a bit then the fuel pump's noise will go higher and higher until it cuts out. Obviously then the car cuts out too. Ive been told this is due to the lift pump not working so then the main pump overworks and cuts out.
domwells27 0 Posted July 20, 2010 The fuel pump relay is number 12 and should be the bottom right relay on the fuse board. Not sure about your problem but could be worth changing the relay as it'll be cheap
