b9085 0 Posted July 30, 2010 Hi, I have had a search and there doesn't seem to be anything that matches my problem exactly... When I start my 2l 16v I can hear the starter going and the car will rev once up to 1-2000 and then die straight after. I can sometimes catch it by revving the engine and that keeps it idling. If I do manage to get it going it runs perfectly, idles fine, never stutters. I have checked all the air hoses (no leaks) and cleaned the throttle body, as these are the free and easy things to do.
