QUEEN V 0 Posted August 6, 2010 Well today i decided to tackle the oil change & the spark plugs. :2gunfire: Took her for a quick spin to Euro Parts to pick a few things up & too warm her up a little, When i came to changing the sparks i noticed that on the 1st left spark plug closest to the timer belt there was quite a bit of oil in & around the sparkplug housing, i dont know that if this was because the engine was hot or if this is a problem ?!? kevin_m 0 Posted August 6, 2010 i would say worn piston rings or valve stem seals? someone else should be able to confirm as im not 100% sure
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 6, 2010 What engine? If oil is ON the plug electrodes, it's possibly worn valve seals or bores as suggested. If oil is AROUND the plug externally, it's probably just a leaking rocker cover gasket.
QUEEN V 0 Posted August 6, 2010 Sorry it's a 1.8 16v Engine & my other half mentioned something about the gasket, do you thing this is a problem or an easy fix?
