andy 0 Posted August 7, 2010 I've had a set of these fitted to the car for a few years and I'm starting to wonder if they would affect ride quality to any degree. Basically one end of the spring sits on the fixed platform of the shock, the other end of the spring is held by the top plate which effectively is held by the top mount (and nut). I'm thinking that by using lowering top plates you are shortening the spring, i.e. pretensioning it? Is this the right way of looking at it? I've got progressive rate springs so am I loosing some of the low rate travel? I keep going round in circles!
