body painting?

Recommended Posts

I live here in the states and i dont know what its like over in the UK but if i want to get somthing painted here its way more that i can afford, as i am only in high school. I took my $160 grill to get painted and it cost me $150  . i was wondering what i would need to paint things my self? how much it would cost? where i would buy it? Im thinking about getting a body kit and to get that painted would just be way to much. any comments would be helpful. thanks.

I just used a spray can on my Grill/eyebrow, cost £10 (i think) for the can. looks very good IMO, just take ya time, and sand it properly :)

Same here: DIY! Best results, I found, is to get one of those spray guns for model kits, as they give a very fine (teardrop free) pattern, unlike spray cans, which I have always found give too course a pattern.

These spray gun kits cost no more than £16, that's including the first can of compressed air.

I have done my grille spoiler like that, just use loads of plastic primer first, then use almost 50% thinner to paint ratio, otherwise your spray gun nozzle will clog.

Good luck,

Tempest

I always thought those air brush kits were alot more than that.

I might have to invest, seeing as I need to touch up the two wings were people have driven into me (3 times in 6 weeks!!!!)
