if it's from a 16v or 8v then it will go in, but you'll need the later UJ to join to the bottom of the steering column, reason being that the 1992-on cars us a rack with a different number of splines on the input shaft, and the UJ needs to match.

Corrado VR6's use an alloy bodied rack with ribbing on it (4cyl ones are steel) and a different of PAS pump, as they also have longer track rods the VR6 rack isn't suitable.

yep, early 36 spline rack input and matching 36 spline UJ

or

late 22 spline rack and matching 22 spline UJ

columns are all the same and both UJ's mate up to them the same.

only just got round to this today and thought id share some additional info that might save some one agro in the future.

the steering rack off a 95 16v is the same as a 91 g60 as david explains above just the splines different but.....

only noticed today that the off-side tie rod is a different length ......

thought ide share this as they are a pain to change on the car.

i had to take off wish bone & arch liner to gain access to undo and swop over.

tie rod ends are the same tho...

Isn't there zf and trw type, I notice all the boots and rod ends have a mark to denote this, and bentley manual says not to mix them up.

To add a little more confusion g60s with a larger tyre/wheel were fitted with longer track rods too I believe there was about 15mm difference
