carrots 1 Posted August 14, 2010 ive been having probs with my 1.8 16v running hot and chucking the water out off the expansion tank.ive been told on here it could be a faulty tank.ive only had it on the car a few months.it was an aftermarket 1 off ebay could it be the cause of my probs.ive changed the waterpump and thermostat and its got a blue expansion cap off ebay also Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

dannyboy 0 Posted August 14, 2010 Sorry didnt read last post correctly, Are you sure the cap has the correct opening pressure on the cap? Cant remember off the top of my head what pressure it was (think about 16 psi) but if your one is too low thats prob why its doing it. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
