streetpreache47 0 Posted September 14, 2010 I have taken my car to my local friendly car mender who I use for my mini and knows what he is on about. I knew that I needed the brakes doing. Front discs and pads sorted easy, but he rang last night saying he is having problems with the rear getting the carriers off. Turns out the allen headed bolts are rounding due to being 20years old and all. He reckons he may have to take the rear axle off to get at it. What sort of price are we looking at for the discs/pads and this rear axle? It is the first MOT I have (been using as a daily no problems for 11months!) hopefully much more years of carefree motoring, otherwise you may see a for sale thread shortly! streetpreache47 0 Posted September 14, 2010 I thought this seemed a little severe, but he was looking at it again today, I think he was just a bit grumpy because it was raining!
emu 0 Posted September 14, 2010 spray it wd50, leave it for at least 3-4 hours to get wd40 work very well and use irvins, did it to my ones and they come off brilliant. then you need to go to vw for new bolts, around 1,5 pound each
