vw.classics 0 Posted October 15, 2010 Hi, does anyone have anmy ideas as to why my 1993 2.0 16V tends to idle at around 1500 rpm when engine is warm?.... It's running fine in all other respects, starts first time on the button when hot or cold and idles at around 900 rpm until after about 20 mins of running time then for some reason creeps up to 1500 rpm when warm or when the clutch is dipped... Could it be the idle control valve needs replacing? Any ideas / comments or quick fixes would be appreciated! Cheers

vw.classics 0 Posted November 8, 2010 hi mate did you sort the problem,my 1.8 16v has started runnin fast  Hi mate, not one single response sadly...but I managed to sort it myself by checking the pipes / hoses and noticed one with a split in it which through the magic of some high quality gaffer tape (until replacement hose arrives) has sorted the problem!!
