g60 blowing plastic boost pipes

Yesterday, driving along at the naughty side of 100mph,put my foot down again, and heard a strange noise, like a belt snapping, and lost nearly all power, looked at the boost gauge, and it was making hardly any boost!

Pulled over, couldnt see anything wrong, so limped it to my mates garage. On inspection, expecting to see a pipe hanging off explaining the lack of boost, but instead, found that the hard plastic pipe coming from the charger to the intercooler had a huge hole it it.

 

Ive never heard of this before, is it just unlucky, or have other g60s done this? The car isnt running huge boost, with just a 68mm pulley and chip change.

they can deteriorate over time.I have one in my shed i think.
