duckdown_hoodrat 0 Posted November 9, 2010 Guys when i turn right from stationary, i.e pulling out a junction and its near enough full lock i get a knocking noise that gets faster as i accelerate. My top mounts have had it, could this be the cause? Or will it be ball joint related etc? It just had an mot and had a replacement steering rack gaitor (saying that i havent checked my fluid) Ideas please? Ta, Dan
Jim 2 Posted November 9, 2010 Sounds like symptoms of a bad CV joint to me...
duckdown_hoodrat 0 Posted November 9, 2010 Sounds like symptoms of a bad CV joint to me... Hmm, that's what crossed my mind. no split/torn boots though?
Jim 2 Posted November 9, 2010 The boots don't have to be torn / worn. The joint can just start to fail as far as I know..
colinstubbs 0 Posted November 9, 2010 i was getting an intermittent knocking under load and once the driver's inner cv was changed it never came back, boots had never been torn.
