Help! I need a specialist.

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a 93 2.0l 16v. Few problem with engine.

symptoms-

idles high randomly

idles low randomly

cut out totally randomly then takes about five minuets to start.

Throttle can feel a bit sticky.

mpg is lucky to over 20.

I have done the obvious and changed sparks, rotor arm, fuel filter, oil filter and air filter.

I have now taken it to FIVE different garages who have all said different things. Two of the mechanics I know

and said you need to take it to a specialist who deals with these engines. dose anyone know of any 'specialists'

in the Bournemouth or Dorset area? Or from the description have any ides of what I can do? please.

Thanks Nath

Idle issues point to the control valve sticking, aswell as the stalling

If you want it vag-com'd I'm around saturday morning (live in bournemouth)

Mine did most of what you mentioned, although it always started easily after stooling and my mpg was ok

Hopefully it is now resolved - by Cleaning the idle value and air mass meter !!!!!

Vince at Stealth did it !!!!!

Personally, I would be seeking help from the guys at The Phirm, who I know will sort it for you. They are based between Hook and Hartley Wintney on A30 in Hampshire; its not Dorset or Bournemouth but they will know what your problem is. A quick cal to them should give you confidence. They were sorting out a K-Jet 16v Corrado today, and are converting another 9a engine 2.0L 16v Corrado from mechanical to electronic fuel injection to resolve running issues. In my sig, you'll find the link to their website.

If that is too far for you, you might also try JMR (John Mitchell Racing) based in Littlehampton in Sussex.
