1.8t agu running mk4 gti cables, notchy gears?

me gears are notchy as hell and i used the 1.8t cables etc, ive bled the clutch, topped box oil up and it only took about half a litre if that so that wasnt the issue so all i can think is its the cables, seems bit worse when cold too at time but i imagine that down to box oil being cold so it has to work harder as it generally all the time notchy :confused4:
