Das-Uberboost 0 Posted January 10, 2011 Sorry if this has been asked over and over, iv been reading the wiki bit on ecu re-set, basically my question is will the ecu learn all the values/data it needs over time without the use of vag com ? When I got my corrado the lad had just put a new battery on after it had Died, no drive cycle has been done as I was blissfully unaware of this so just took it away and have been using it every day since. Thanks.
VWVW 1 Posted January 11, 2011 I have disconnected and reconnected my battery loads of time to stop battery drain before I purchased a battery charger and it hasnt affected my car at all. I think the ecu learning period is within the first 10 min from what I have read in here. So once you reconnect the battery and start the car dont leave the car idling within this 10 minute. Just drive off straight away as you normally would and it will "learn".
hombre_paulo 0 Posted January 11, 2011 +1 for no problems after disconnecting the battery without doing the "Basic Settings" in Vagcom
Das-Uberboost 0 Posted January 11, 2011 Cheers, it doesn't seem to drive badly just wondered if it was essential to use vag com once battery had been off. Thanks.
