farrantino 0 Posted February 1, 2011 just seen a throttle position sensor for a 9a what would be the difference between the two switches and the pistionmeter. Thanks Sean
aide 0 Posted February 1, 2011 potentiometer indicates exact position of throttle butterfly from closed through wide open the microswitch controls the idle valve and is either open or closed.

aide 0 Posted February 1, 2011 i think they have both, could be wrong, always had the 1.8 myself?
pumbaa 0 Posted February 1, 2011 The potentiometer will act in the same as the 2 switches. I had the earlier type with 2 switches before and the later type potentiometer now, it made no difference. Just make sure that when you fix the potentiometer to the throttle body, it 'clicks' just as the butterflys open so the ecu knows exactly when you come 'off idle' I think i may have a spare one you can have for a fiver? farrantino 0 Posted February 1, 2011 nice one, just what i wanted to hear. Should the potentiometer click when fully open as well then. Nice one.
