_Meth 0 Posted February 7, 2011 Ok so im planning on rebuilding my head over the next few weeks, just got a few questions that hopefully someone can answer for me! 1) Its been mentioned that when i take the head off I should lubricate the bores with a bit of oil, anything inparticular? 2) How do I go about timing the engine up before removing the head? farrantino 0 Posted February 7, 2011 1) When i rebuilt my 16v head i used normal engine oil around the bores. 2)on the camshaft sprocket theres a little notch on it, this should line up with the arrow on the rocker cover, crankshaft puller has a timing mark and should line up with the timing mark on the timing case.
