gregski 0 Posted April 2, 2011 Guys forgive me for asking such a stupid question but was the Corrado subframe coated with something to prevent it from rusting, or is that black sludge all over it just what has accumulated from road grime over the last 18 years? boost monkey 0 Posted April 2, 2011 Pretty sure they're just painted in black like the wishbones et al. The sludge will accumulate with time.
RW1 0 Posted April 2, 2011 Nothing special. Just gloss black paint as said above. Like the rest of the black chassis parts in the main. Exceptions being the drive shafts are nylon coated iirc. .
davebirl 0 Posted April 4, 2011 I've just finished re-newing the underside of my Corrado. I removed subframe, ARB, front and rear axle. Had them sandblasted and powder coated. I replaced the wishbones and drop links also. After fitting I coated everything in 2 cans of this stuff http://www.idealsealants.com/protection-wax-400ml-tectane_c5p134.php It leaves a hard wax finish on metal and is almost invisible. My new parts dont look as shiny but I think they will last alot longer.
