what make cambelt for G60?

gonna be getting a bit of a service done on the G and im gonna do cambelt and water pump at the same time.

 

was gonna get a gates cam belt kit, would others recommend any thing different?

 

also what about water pump? would you guys go for VW one or a motorfactor one?

 

already bought a new "non stretch" crank bolt and washer for this to!

Would try and go genuine for waterpump, come up new on ebay for a reasonable price.

 

I have an unused boxed dayco cambelt that can be yours

gates kit on ebay for about £35, surely thats got to be cheaper and as good quality as VW?

Yeah Gates is what VW sell but VW ones come properly sealed - VW kit was £18 last time I bought one

nice one cheers for the info i'll give the stealers a ring and go from there.

 

according to my "VW parts club" book (which i didnt think to look in):

 

cam belt kits retail at £28.50 and the parts club price is £18.35

 

and

 

water pumps retail at £29 and the parts club price is £21.39 which is a lot cheaper than i thought i

Yeah = I think that's an old book though as prices have gone up a bit now as above...

 

Cambelt on it's own used to be £4.50 but it's now double that!
