StueyB 0 Posted May 31, 2011 Need a little more information chap for example. Model: Assuming Corrado Engine: 8v, 16v, G60, VR6...?
quicky1980 0 Posted May 31, 2011 lol, so desperate to find one he forgot to say. Looking at his post history " i am fitting a 2 litre ABF lump to my 91reg 1.8 16v raddo " so he either has the 2ltr or 1.8ltr 16v. I have two alternators from a vr6 if needed, not sure if they fit 16v's though.
jacko 0 Posted May 31, 2011 it's for a 1.8 but its the same on the ABF. its also in my sig :)
t700bes 1 Posted June 1, 2011 The Alternator on the ABF is different to the one on the 1.8 16v (I know I have done the conversion). The 1.8 16v one is on like a bracket that slides up and down whereas the ABF one doesn't have this bracket and you "swing" it on a bolt... I hope I have explained myself correctly.. I have the one that is on a Swingy thing. from a 1.8 16v KR engine (out of my raddo)
mikkijayne 0 Posted June 1, 2011 A VR6 one should fit the ABF bracket but the pulley will need to be swapped. Mk3 TDI is a direct fit, or an 8V with AC as they both use the ABF bracket.
jacko 0 Posted June 1, 2011 I managed to get 1 today from GSF for a hell of alot of money, fitted it and ive got exactly the same problem :( im hoping the battery is knackered and is not holding any charge. other than that ive got no idea :( I swapped everything from my KR engine over to the ABF so ive got all the old style pulleys and bracket thingys
