_Meth 0 Posted June 11, 2011 Ok ive fitted a moonroof out of a passat the other night, went to test it - and it has the exact same problem as my corrado sunroof did... When you press either of the buttons (slide / tilt) it will sometimes budge a small small amount and then start making a horrible snapping plastic drilling kind of noise, like the motor gears spinning and jumping, or it will just make the noise straight away and not budge at all. With your fingers in the mech, you can push the sliders on the passengers side and it will move with a lot of force, but the left hand side doesnt want to go as far as the right hand side even when you do that. The only thing I have used from the old corrado system with the same problem is the motor - but surely if the motor was weak it would just do nothing and make no noise, rather than that horrid sound of breaking plastic? Im going to take the glass panel off and take another look over the weekend, but I realy couldnt see anything broken last night =/ Have I been unlucky and got a second sunroof thats knackered? Could it be the motor? Should I try and wire in the 6 pin passat motor to my 3 pin corrado switch?
