VR6Pete 0 Posted June 17, 2011 Just picked up an iPad 2. I'm not able to post / reply on the 'full desktop' theme. The submit new thread, go advanced, preview post buttons etc.. Do not work. Can you please resolve? I don't intend on using tapatalk on here or the mobile theme. Cheers Pete
Supercharged 2 Posted June 18, 2011 Hmmm my iPad1's working fine Pete... Is your IOS up to date? Maybe try clearing the cache in Safari

Supercharged 2 Posted June 18, 2011 Hmmm, I'm actually only on 4.3 so will update mine this morning and see if it breaks!
VR6Pete 0 Posted June 18, 2011 I'll enable developer mode see if it displays any site errors!
VR6Pete 0 Posted June 18, 2011 As I thought. The website produces a java error. One for Andi to fix :)
Supercharged 2 Posted June 18, 2011 Test ---------- Post added at 10:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:20 AM ---------- Hmmm, still working ok for me, the test post was quick reply and this is a full one ---------- Post added at 10:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:23 AM ---------- Scrap that, the reply to thread button doesn't work now
VR6Pete 0 Posted June 18, 2011 Must be a bug in the forum software, as if you enable developer console from settings > safari, you will get a JavaScript error when clicking that button.
Wullie 1 Posted June 18, 2011 It'll be an ant. Get a bottle of wine and some bleach.
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted June 18, 2011 Try changing the Editor. It's new in vB 4.1.4 and it's clear that Safari isn't compatible (Apple's fault!) Forum Actions -> General Settings -> Miscellaneous Options
VR6Pete 0 Posted June 18, 2011 Tried all 3 editor types, although I've always used the basic editor. Even the buttons on the quick reply don't work. It just produces the error I've previously attached. I can't even switch to the editor though :-)
VR6Pete 0 Posted June 19, 2011 Replying to a pm works... Quick reply / advanced editor etc.. It's just on forum threads.
OSV 0 Posted June 19, 2011 I cant reply on my main computer all of a sudden, the reply box looks grey and won't accept text so can't post or reply. HELP!
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted June 19, 2011 Seems it's a known bug with vBulletin and Safari. iPhone/iPad, afraid I can't do much until they release a fix. Mac: install Google Chrome.
VR6Pete 0 Posted June 20, 2011 Thanks - i'll await an update, only use safari on my mac / iphone and ipad :)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 20, 2011 Pete, my missus's iPad 2 doesn't work properly with the BBC iPlayer either, but iPhones work fine. Seems Apple have rushed something out to market with only 90% compatibility once again
VR6Pete 0 Posted June 20, 2011 Cant you just use the iPlayer app for iPad? Not had a single issue playing anything back using that... I cant help but to detect a little negative vibe towards apple there ;) Took in my 4 year old macbook pro last week to get fixed, they fixed it for free within 5 hours, and i got a free replacement charger too! couldnt help myself with walking out with an iPad 2 too :)
