VWVW 1 Posted September 17, 2011 I need to take my carpet out for a spot of cleaning. This is the only trim still holding the carpet in. The two brass nuts holding the black port plug in place. I cant seem to get my spanner into the brass nut thats on the left hand side as its very restricted. The black port plug seems to be held very tight with limited movement. How do you go about releasing the nut ??? Anyone done this part of the trim removal before. Thought I will check before I break anything :) cheers
fla 9 Posted September 17, 2011 unclip the port - you need to press the back portion (iirc) with a flat blade screwdriver and loosen it. Have a look and it'll be clear. It wont loosen too much mind you as there is not much loom there. You'll then be able to get a socket or spanner on the nut.
VWVW 1 Posted September 18, 2011 Cheers for the reply...Gave this another go still struggling with it. I did manage to get the spanner around the nut but there is no space to turn it with the gear leaver in the way. Probably will need a very small 10mm spanner for this.
