VR6 2.8 and 2.9 Inlet manifolds

Recommended Posts

Right, I've now got to start thinking what I can do to my new VR6.

Can someone tell me if the 2.8 and 2.9 inlet manifolds are the same?

And how long would it take to polish them up?

I don't pick up my VR6 till the new owner of my G60 hands over the cash.

And already i've got a list of mods... Roddy got his shot of driving my G60

last night too, it's funny how everyone who drives it starts to laugh at the

noise of the charger/dump valve. Im sorry to see it go but I think Struan,

the new owner, is going to love it.

Not sure Paul but I think they're the same. Maybe you could check the eurocarparts web site for part numbers.

I believe they are different. Niko has posted pics to show the differences too but that was on the vortex and I'm unable to load Niels pics on this computer for some reason so you might want to do the searching yourself here is the link: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerosearch?creator=niels

search Intake manifold in the archives and in the Corrado Classifieds and then you should find some pics of stock 2.8 and the 2.9 intakes and then the VSR

Vince of Stealth told me the 2.9 Manifold and Throttle body have a larger bore than the 2.8 but the Golf Highlines got these parts and a newer Motronic module, meaning 185bhp! You can therefore raid parts from a Highline Golf or a Corrado.
