engine keeps droping out while at high speeds

when im going at speeds of 50+ and engage the clutch for any more than a few seconds the engine will cut out until I take my foot off the clutch and efectivly bump start it again, and yet it donsent do it when im going slower.

what do you think is up with it?

This vr6 right? Same thing happened to mine a few years back... Cant remember what it was really... But air flow meter keeps comming to my head

Try getting vagcom on it, if you havn't got it I would advise buying one of the cheap ebay cables and download vcds-lite, its very useful!
