Turborado 10 Posted January 8, 2012 Hi, I have seen this question arise on alot of threads but im not 100% if they are relevant to me, I have a 1.8t AUQ engine in my rado, and since my last engine transplant (or the one before im not entirely certain) the temp gauge has ceased working along with the fan. The gauge does not move at all from cold no matter how long i am driving for, so I had to wire the fan to a switch just under my dashboard. I have recently replaced the rad control module, but still no temp gauge.Would appreciate any help.
Macdaddy 10 Posted January 8, 2012 Have you tried the engine temp coolant sensor?
Turborado 10 Posted January 8, 2012 Mechanic told me he replaced it when he first noticed the gauge problem, but it still hasnt worked
Stonejag 10 Posted January 8, 2012 Have you got access to Vagcom? You can check what the ECU thinks the temperature sensor is reading (hidden away in the measurement blocks somewhere) so you can tell if it's a sensor problem or that the gauge is stuck.
