Why are there 2 sets of wires going to the dash tweeters???

Does anyone know why they are 2 sets of wirers that go to each tweeter, If i was to upgrade them, would I need to join both sets of wires to the new speaker??

Because the outputs go from the head unit, to the tweeter and then down to the door speaker.

Depending which way you new component speakers wiring goes :?

My new set of speakers go to the door mids then onto the tweeters :oops:

So now i will have to wire from the head unit to the door first or join the existing wires to change the configuration........oh well nobody said it was going to be simple. :lol:

How does that work mate, where is the crossover, is it built in to the door speaker???

 

Normally the signal goes in to the crossover and from there it is split for tweeters and mids.

It has an inline (passive) crossover which goes from the mid to the tweeter :D
