anubis 0 Posted April 15, 2004 Hi, I was chatting to aposegil at no-rice yesterday, and turns out that an alternative for the Brembo brake kit for 5x100 would be a Grand Turismo kit. Has anyone got any pictures of these on, a link or some info about them? Cheers
Bobbywhacker 0 Posted April 19, 2004 i think they sell them at Amd.... altho its listed in the Golf Vr section, it'll fit the C i believe
anubis 0 Posted April 19, 2004 Cheers, I phoned them up and found out. It's basically the top of the range Brembo kit, Brembo - Grand Turismo. Bigger discs, bigger pads / callipers. Bigger price. Would look good though !! :)
PhatVR6 0 Posted April 19, 2004 waste of money. unless you're racing your car you don't need brakes that big...or that expensive.
anubis 0 Posted April 19, 2004 so you'd go for the normal brembo kit ??
Mike Edwards 0 Posted April 19, 2004 Buy yourself the 288mm brakes off a mk3 Golf from a scrappy. Twice the pad area = noticeable improvements in stopping. You may need non-standard wheels to fit them though...

You may need non-standard wheels to fit them though... those brakes fit under standard speedlines and BBS....not sure about the Stroms' Solitudes though. I have those brakes on my VR6....very good stoping power.
