you'll need;

- length(s) of threaded bar - 2 as you'll strip threads from at least one. nuts and washers to suit.

- 2 lengths of pipe with welded plate and central hole on either end of each. shape each of the other 'open' ends of the pipe to suit the beam and curved pushing end of the bush.

give the leading edge of the bush a slight shave, and grease it to facilitate easy entry...

assemble bits above, i'm assuming you'll understand how, then push em home, or;

pay a pro like John a few quid to do it for you and save yourself the hassle :)

I am John Mitchell, the owner of JMR, a Volkswagen Audi specialist garage. Based in West Sussex, we have particular affection for the Corrado and have 20 years experience of tuning and service with this great Coupe. I myself have owned a self built 16VG60 Corrado for 18+ years.

We have done a great deal of work for members of this forum over the years, and it would be my pleasure to help with your torsion beam bushes. Being in Swansea however might be a problem for you. Although however, a good number of our customers regularly travel from all over the country for our services.

Apologies for hacking the thread!!

But John, I may well be interested in bringing mine down in the future? Would it be possible to PM you for further info?

Cheers,

Chris

Going back to original question. You could try main dealer for one. Use it then sell it on here as I am sure there would be a taker. When you change it get a genuine bush or they will fail in no time at all. Or a polly mount. If you get an original bush you will need the tool. If you fit a polly bush you don't need it. You grease it and pop it in without the tool

I bet by saying this I will launch another discussion about genuine and polly. So here goes .......

I welcome all enquiries from Corrado owners, please feel free to PM me, or call me at the workshop. My post code at JMR is BN17 7QU. Our full contact details can be found on the website http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk.

We often help owner enthusiasts with the areas of work that involve specialist tooling or expertise. In this way many owners are able to keep down running costs and only out source works that they are unable to complete themselves . We are open to discussion on work share projects, and to that end we look forward to hearing from you.
