Guest Posted April 19, 2004 I presume a "blank" is basic cam that hasn't been set for any particular engine, and can be reprofiled to your needs?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 19, 2004 I meant did Phat have his existing VR6 cams reground or did he have new VW blanks ground at Grant Motorsport? Blanks are cam templates. i.e. the shaft before it is profiled on the machine. It is better to start again with a VW blank, as per Schrick, than re-profile an existing cam. PhatVR6 0 Posted April 20, 2004 No idea whetheer they were blanks or not, I bought them used for £80. but they are definitely 268's, and are VW cams. they've had the base ground down to give extra lift.
