gandhi 10 Posted October 31, 2012 Hi Guys - Newbie VR6 owner - just sold my Oak Green 16v 3 door MK2 and had to get something else!! The starter doesn't always engage so I was going to remove it, strip it and attempt to repair it. I also heard that the Golf V5 starter motor is a straight fit? Is it worth trying to repair the existing one and is the whole job to remove the starter motor easy or complex? Do I remove it from the top or from underneath?! Cheers, Paul
Supercharged 2 Posted October 31, 2012 Welcome to the forum, I'd just buy a (decent) replacement exchange - not an expensive item! Either genuine VW or a Bosch for Eurocarparts etc
