delfinis38 1 Posted December 21, 2012 just changed the fuel filter on my VR.... all gone well so far.... however one of the metal "u shaped brackets" that slides over the plastic filter housing fixing holes has corroded and fallen apart. are they still available from VW ??? if not what do people use.... or do they use anything. should I put the filter back without one of these ? Stonejag 10 Posted December 21, 2012 VW call them 'speed nuts'. I got a bag of 50 in assorted sizes for £2.50 from my local hardware shop - or you could temporarily nick one off one of your headlights? Get galvanised ones if you can, VW ones go as rusty as a very rusty thing... Stone
