Oldtax 10 Posted February 14, 2013 After having my HT leads changed ... my running problems returned a week later (2.0l 16v) I want to change my vac hoses as per this diagram http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?52325-1-8-16v-vacuum-pipes-diagram i figure they could do with a change after 20 years anyway. Do i buy these direct from vw and how much am i looking at roughly? also what lengths etc? any info greatly appreciated
swampy 0 Posted February 23, 2013 I'd just work out what the internal diameter of the hose is and go onto eBay and order a few meters of it.
Oldtax 10 Posted February 24, 2013 Thanks very much. Looking at the 2 hoses that go into the air intake pre throttle body, each end feels more braid than hose ... i.e. it's very flexible ... so I'm assuming this is creating a leak. I sprayed carb cleaner liberally around this area and there was a definite change in engine tone ... From dying horse to asthmatic cow. Or should it be this way? I don't want the situation to get any worse! I read a cure-all fix involving dry wood, petrol and a naked flame ... Trying to rule everything out before taking this approach
Supercharged 2 Posted February 24, 2013 Either VW or any decent motor factors will sell / match this - really doesn't cost a lot so worth buying more than you need
