fitting 50mm inlet from a golf 2

I intend to fit the 50mm inlet to my 1.8 16v. is there anything I need to have done the the head ie matching the ports?? or is it a simple bolt on?

No you just need both halves of the 50mm manifold. You would be wise to replace all 4 brass injector seats & seals, the 4 plastic guide tubes and all 8 injector seals whilst the manifold is off as they are prone to leaking and the plastic tubes usually break with age.

 

You'll find the engine pulls harder to the redline with the bigger manifold, at the slight expense of bottom end torque.
