Kezbo 0 Posted April 5, 2013 Has anyone repaired a fan control module? I've been fault finding in my '93 VR6 as the cooling fans weren't operating, using the sticky cooling thread I established the FCM was faulty and upon opening it up found a couple of solenoids (I think that's what they were)that were loose. So I soldered them back on and the FCM works, however with the exception that the aux water pump doesn't overrun when the ignition is switched off (I believe it should run on for 10 mins or so). The strange thing is that it will run with the fans if the yellow temp sensor or fan thermo-switch is bridged. So can someone confirm this is definitely not right, I believe even with the engine cold it the aux fan should overrun? And secondly suggest what I should look at in the FCM to try to address this?
