Jim Bowen 1 Posted April 19, 2013 Hope Robo22sri doesn't mind me asking the forum. But i'm thinking of buying his VR6 engine and he tells me it has this overfuelling issues. Suspects its the lambda sensor, I don't really mind this as my car has spares on it i can try. Am hoping to view the engine and take down vagcom and my laptop and also might take the maf from my car. Just looking for any advise on possible causes and issues, i don't wanna change my engine then be in a position where i'm trying to find a fault, would rather fix it in Rob's golf first. jonnykillpop 10 Posted April 19, 2013 I just replaced my Cam Sensor, was showing up on Vagcom, running fine but seems a little thirsty still, do I need it reset on Vagcom, clear codes etc. My mates got Vagcom, got diagnosed then went away got part, proper VW one, and fitted myself, did'nt put back on Vagcom. robo22sri 10 Posted April 19, 2013 Of course i dont mind Jim, The engine had new yellow and blue coolant sensors and also a new stat. The stat failed and was always cooling which i originally thought my issue was with over fueling, since changing the stat and coolant sensor it still over fuels. I have not replaced any of the crank, cam sensors, maf, lambda. I have cleaned the MAF with carb cleaner and tried unplugging the MAF, it runs like a bag of nails with the MAF removed but ideals fine etc with it plugged in Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Thinking about taking my sensors and bits with me when i view the car, i have a spare crank sensors, am sure cam one is easy to remove as is the MAF.
