mr.ots 10 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm just in the process of replacing all of the brake hard lines due to an advisory on the recent MOT and thought I would upgrade the flexies to Goodridge SS hoses. I've got the correct set for the standard Corrado rear calipers and have two copper washers that came with the hoses but it's not clear where these are for. Anyone know? Supercharged 2 Posted May 27, 2013 For standard calipers you shouldn't need them as far as I know - only if you have a banjo connection you need one either side. ---------- Post added at 8:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:43 PM ---------- They look like this? http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=474 ---------- Post added at 8:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:44 PM ---------- They look like this? http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=
mr.ots 10 Posted May 27, 2013 Well I guess they will come in handy if I ever upgrade to mk4 calipers. Cheers Steve.
Supercharged 2 Posted May 27, 2013 Maybe worth you calling Goodridge though mate just to check?
mr.ots 10 Posted May 27, 2013 The only place they looked like the might have fitted is where the hose screws into the rear caliper but the gap between the hose nut and caliper body is to great to secure the washer. I don't think they would fit anywhere else. Has anyone else fitted these hoses to a standard Corrado VR brake setup?
beastie4126 0 Posted May 27, 2013 You would only use them if it was a banjo bolt as said before, the caliper to hose bolt arrangement is tight enough to create a seal. I had these on mine before switching for mk4 rear calipers instead so I can happily vouch for both fitments.
mr.ots 10 Posted May 27, 2013 Thanks for the reply Beastie. The new rear hoses are the same fitment as the originals which didn't use washers so I'm confident they are not needed, I just couldn't figure out why they were included with the hoses.
