Shouldn't it be a number stamped on fuel pump?

Just pulled a fuel pump from a 1.8 passat today, to see if it's the same as in my VR6 (I think it's the same) - but can't find any VW Number on it - anyone know where it would/should be located, or if it's any other way to tell if it's the same pump ?.

 

VDO is stamped on it.

I was looking at what I suppose is the sending unit - but how would one remove the pump itself ?.

 

It seem to be fixed/locked in place with 3 metal "plates" on 3 points with rubber on them.

 

also anyone know if Bosch made any of the VR6 pumps (as this one seem to have a Bosch number on it....but hard to read before removing it completely).

Guess it won't fit - as it seem to have the bosch number of: 0 580 453 012

 

Anyone know it's specs ? - I presume it might be a 3.5 bar pump ? (Pulled from a 35i passat 1.8 112 hp)
