Hofmiester 10 Posted August 15, 2013 Setting up the belt for my charger install and i'd get better wrapage of the charger pulley if I can route the belt the other way on the alternator pulley. Basically turning it backwards. Seen several pics online with belts installed this way around, but just want to check 100%

ov_nanne 0 Posted August 16, 2013 Yes you can run the alternator backwards. I have a Z-Engineering supercharger installed and my alternator runs backwards from OEM and have no problems. Since the belt is larger and has to take card of the charger, the set up between the pulleys is slightly changed (1 extra supercharger pulley added from OEM) Hope this helps! Hofmiester 10 Posted August 17, 2013 Cool, so far I have run the belt like this. The charger is basically replacing the tensioner.
