20VT rev counter tachometer

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am doing a 20VT conversion on my 1991 (H plate) 16V Corrado. I've been reading up on it and basically my rev counter runs from the dizzy so if I drop the engine in now the rev counter will not work... I need to buy a tachometer adapter to convert the signal form analogue to digital. Has anyone done this before? And what Tachometer is the best to use? I have found this one on a US site - will it work?

Looking to have the conversion done by end September :)

Thanks!!!

What ECU you going to use, the late cluster works with the OEM ECU

It's the standard ECU from the engine, AUM Audi A3 150 engine - been remapped already - and my Rado is an early model so will need the adapter :(

Change the cluster, its easy and will cost a lot less

there's a full write up on vortex on how to change it

You'll also need the electronic feed for a speedo to go into the ECU so if you change the cluster you will have the electronic speedo aswell

Can I find a 16v cluster with the digital feed? That tacho in the link is only $50... I'm fairly new to Corrado's and I'll only be "helping" with the conversion lol
